Gre za pravljico o gospodu Marčimarju in njegovi pravljični hiši s streho iz pisanega papirja, v kateri živijo še preostali stanovalci, ki si ob večerih pripovedujejo pravljice. Le te so v celotno okvirno zgodbo umeščene v krogotoku letnih časov, in vsaka pravljica odraža enega izmed letnih časov z vsemi njegovimi značilnostmi, kakor tudi življenjske zgodbe vsakega posameznika in barve pisane strehe.
Knjiga je primerna za predšolske in šolske otroke nižje stopnje.

This is a fairy tale about Mr Marchimar and his fairy-tale house with a roof made of coloured paper. The house is full of inhabitants who tell each other fairy tales in the evenings. These are set in a cycle of seasons throughout the frame story, and each fairy tale reflects one of the seasons with all its characteristics, as well as the life stories of each individual and the colours of the colourful roof.
The book is suitable for older pre-school and young primary school children.
